Lone Star Cooking from My Kitchen to Yours
By Lisa Fain
Publisher: Ten Speed Press
The book is interlaced with home spun stories, colourful pictures and recipes for an entire feast.
The book contains over 125 recipes from starters, to salads, chillies and soups, mains and sweets.
I found the breakfasts to be typical American breakfasts. Too full of fats for my liking, however there were some interesting snacks and mains.
As expected, this is an American cookbook, meaning that are measurements are in imperial and need to be converted.
The selling point of the book is the family stories Lisa Fain shares that relate to the recipes which gives the book the homely feeling.
Overall there are some interesting recipes to try, but generally not a lot that is new.
