The Point By G. Nyhanen Engaging Dark Thriller Parts of this book were excellent, while others missed the mark. Nora Reynolds leaves college at the end of the semester unsure of where her current relationship is heading following a major disappointment. Dane Buchman is a violent sexual sociopath who exploits women. Nora is swept up by Dane’s charm, and is caught is his manipulations. The author uses excessive amounts of unnecessary swearing, and cruelty, particularly to animals. The writing does follow as well as it could, appearing disjointed in places. A good editor should have fixed some of these issues, allowing the writing to read smoothly. The plot is well developed and the character particularly of Dane is well explored. The ending is perhaps the best element of the book, being graphic and full of tension. A book for those who like dark thrillers and scary characters. Reviewed by Heath Henwood.
